  译:由于媒体的不断关注,我们国家的职业运动员成了明星和名人,且那些的尤为杰出的(运动员)被支付给巨额薪资。

  分析:开头段第 一句,用完成时展现我国的职业运动员的现状——已经成为了明星名人。

  There is no doubt that traffic and pollution from vehicles have becomehuge problems, both in cities and on motorways everywhere. (C8T3 提高油价是解决交通和环境问题的最好方式)

  译:毋庸置疑的是来自机动车辆的交通和污染已经成为了大麻烦,在城市里和随处的高速公路上是都是如此。

  分析:依然是开头段,第 一句交代交通和污染问题的现状。在讨论或者提出解决问题的议论文或者报告类作文中,还可以在开头段提出:某一现象已经引起了广泛关注/成为了公众的关注点。可以使用句型如:Recently, sth has been brought to popular attention/ has become the focus of public concern.

  示例三

  Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beingshas increased beyond our wildest expectations. This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs that are changing the whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis. (C6T4 改变)

  译:在过去的半个世纪,人类生活的变化节奏之快已经远超出了我们的期待。这正是受到了科学和技术突破的驱使,它们正在改变我们每天看待世界的方式。

  分析:第 一句话中完成时的使用强调的是所讨论的话题的现状——生活变化节奏已加快。第二句中的完成时突出的是科技突破对变化节奏的影响。值得注意的是这个开头段用到了3个不同时态,分别为现在完成时,现在进行时和一般现在时,可谓是时态丰富的典型段落。

  Advertising has been an integral part of our economic and social life now. However, as a powerful technique of promoting sales, it has been censured by some people for its “main aim”: to encourage shoppers to buy unnecessary goods. I tend to think that this view presents a very one-sided picture of advertising.

  The commentary is understandable that advertising creates unconscious desires. Enticed by these messages, consumers would buy goods of little or no value to themselves on impulse, be it a new cell phone or a massage armchair.
