在雅思、GCSE和A-Level培训过程中，我们发现很多的中国学生，在阅读教材和答题过程中，存在很多语言本身的理解和表达的问题。

这就造成学科学习中的两个缺失： 一是、读不懂学科教材中的的概念concept、原理principle、因果关系cause and effect，二是、知识点本身掌握之后却不能够顺畅的表达。

在之前的分享中，已经为大家讲解了一些学科知识理解和表达的从句的语法现象，以及并列结构的重要性。这一期，我们将一起重温非谓语动词的相关用法，希望大家也可以从中受益。

解读——非谓语动词

非谓语动词共分为：动名词、to do不定式、分词三个部分，分词又分为现在分词doing、过去分词done两类。

狭义上，非谓语动词，是指在句子中不再充当谓语的动词，以动名词、不定式、分词为存在形式，承担其他句子成分。

广义上，非谓语是一种语言思维，即对于非谓语动词的使用，充当谓语之外的其他成分，有名词性成分（主语、宾语、表语）和修饰性成分（定语、状语）。

1. 动名词

动名词作主语

Smoking is prohibited. 禁止吸烟。

Having a successful marriage takes effort and patience. 婚姻需要努力和耐心的维系。

动名词作宾语

She couldn’t crying when she heard the news. 当她听到消息时忍不住的流泪。

I appreciate giving birth to a kind and brave man. 感谢我所生下的孩子善良并且勇敢。

动名词作表语

Our job is serving the people. 我们的工作是服务于人们。

His hobby is collecting stamps. 他的爱好是集邮。

动名词作定语

swimming pool 游泳池

boarding card 登机牌

2. 不定式

不定式作主语

To see is to believe. 眼见为实。

To error is human；to forgive，divine. 会犯错的是人，会宽恕的神。

不定式作宾语

I failed to tell the truth. 我说不出实话。

I didn’t mean to hurt you. 我不是有意要伤害你。

不定式作表语

Our plan is to keep the affair secret. 我们的计划是讲这件事保密。

The next step is to make sure that you know exactly what is required. 接下来的步骤是要确定你所需要的是什么。

不定式作状语

目的状语：

Doctors worked through the night to save the life of the injured man. 医生们彻夜抢救伤者的生命。

结果状语：

He run to the station only to find the train had left. 他跑到车站却发现火车已经开走了。

3. 现在分词

现在分词作定语

前置定语：

He is a promising young man. 他是一个大有前途的年轻人。

Don’t make any noise. There’s a deeply sleeping baby. 小点声，这有一个熟睡的婴儿。

后置定语：

The gentleman sitting between John and Lily is the editor of the campus newspaper. 坐在约翰和莉莉中间的人是校报主编。

The employees working here are all from rural areas. 在这工作的员工都来自农村地区。

现在分词作状语

The children ran out of the room，laughing and talking merrily. 孩子们开开心心说笑着跑出了屋子。

Their car was caught in a traffic jam，thus causing the delay. 他们遇到了堵车，因而推迟到来。

4. 过去分词

过去分词作定语

前置定语

developed countries 发达国家

well-trained spies 训练有素的特工

后置定语

The bridge built last year needs repairing. 去年建成的大桥需要维修。

Don’t use words or phrases known only to people with specific knowledge. 不要使用只有专业人士才能理解的词汇和短语。

过去分词作状语

Some medicines，if wrongly taken，can kill a person. 误食某些药物可能会致死。

The patient got off the bed，supported by the nurse. 病人背护士扶下了病床。
