More and more people are reading news online, but newspapers will still be the main source of news for most people.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
「Introduction」With online news media developing at a rapid pace,← 语法:独立主格结构作状语 traditional print media is heavily impacted. Typically,← 逻辑连接,说明是上一句一个宏观现象中的一个具体情况 newspapers are declining and will sooner or later be gone.
「Body」Before newspapers are completely replaced, many readers who like the feel of papers and ink find it difficult familiarizing themselves with the palm-sized screen[familiarize sb. with sth.]. In addition, they are skeptical about the professionalism of online news agencies. In other words, ←逻辑连接,把上一句话没有说到最清楚的内容说清楚they may often find the reporting dubious, since news media are notorious for fabricating [fabricate] stories. [词汇:关键的得分点是表正/负评价的形容词和动词] For these reasons, at present, people still prefer being informed by traditional newspapers.
However, this situation is changing. First, compared with online news, no newspaper is able to give instant response to events as soon as they happen. If people read stories behind the time, at least 12 hours after an event happens, what is the point of reading news? Because of this critical disadvantage, newspapers will become an exhibit in the museum. Meanwhile, newspapers are a one-wayconveyance of information. Journalists give what they have to the audience and do not receive anything from them. This is where online news media has an edge that people can make a comment and exchange ideas with the editors and other readers as they read. Since modern readers need the interaction, newspapers, which are devoid of this feature, will soon be abandoned. In addition, online news present events in a variety of ways, including video clips, dozens of pictures and animation. Paper publications, by marked contrast, are tooplain.
「Conclusion」At this point, I think we can safely anticipate that newspapers are being antiquated. At the same time, their replacement, online news, ← 语法:同位语is booming.

Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Introduction
Advertising has been an integral part of our economic and social life now. However, as a powerful technique of promoting sales, it has been censured by some people for its “main aim”: to encourage shoppers to buy unnecessary goods. I tend to think that this view presents a very one-sided picture of advertising.
Body Paragraph 1
The commentary is understandable that advertising creates unconscious desires. People holding this view may ascribe their over-consumption to advertisers’ exaggerated claims of their marketing pitches, which means advertising puts goods in a positive light, creating unrealistic expectations, all for the benefit of selling. Enticed by these messages, consumers would buy goods of little or no value to themselves on impulse, be it a new cell phone or a massage armchair.
ascribe … to …
Body Paragraph 2
To persuade potential customers through evoking their psychological appeals, indeed, is one objective of advertising. However, I would argue that there is a controversy in what constitutes necessities versus non-essentials. This ambiguous notion is changing, along with the change in generations. To explain, what seems nonessential now – a massage armchair, for example – may fulfill its function years later, whereas what seems required now – a cell phone, for example – may soon lose its value if operating systems suddenly upgrade.
evoke 唤醒 v.
psychological appeals
controversy 争议 n.
Body Paragraph 3
My firm conviction is that the real objective of advertising is to promote effective communication between producers and consumers. When a new product is to be introduced in the market, producers create memorable advertising campaigns that boost brans recognition, from which potential customers can be informed more about product advantages and know what suits their requirements and budget. Not only that, advertising helps maintain the demand for existing products and services.
introduce 引入v.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would say that the main aim of advertising is to prepare a ground for the sales of products, but we cannot affirm that the promoted goods are unnecessary.
prepare a ground for 为…打基础
affirm 断言v.
