困住你击写作6.5分或者7分的,很可能不是“词汇”(LR)或者“语法”(GRA),而有可能是“切题”(TR)”和“连贯性”(CC)。

  我们以两道题来看看怎么建立CC。

  《胡敏雅思第七代教材(基础版)》选题

  Some people argue that children should always follow their parents’ advice.

  To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  以Body部分的一个段落为例:

  先让步,让步也是为了让行文更顺。不然,下一句中的more reliable这个比较级可能显得唐突。 Parents’ advice cannot be perfect; it is however more reliable than children’s own opinion or decision. 接下来解释为什么more reliable,是对上一句的细化。信息的细化是一种信息顺延关系。Going through life’s many events, parents know the world better than their children, who are naïve and are novices in dealing with the many issues of life. 然后,笔者引出一个并列的理由。 Meanwhile, when a parent gives a piece of advice, it is for the good of the child. The good intention must be recognized. 然后,笔者通过例证应对前文所述的理由,针对上一句的抽象内容来举例也是一种搭建CC的方法。 For example, a parent may object to the child’s puppy love. The child may follow the advice and avoid the heartbreaking moment and disappointment, which the parent experienced when he or she was young, when the premature romance ends.

  Employers should give their staff at least four weeks’ time off work a year to make employees better at their jobs.

  To what extent do you agree or disagree?

  以Body部分的一个段落为例:

  建立“联系”,应对“连贯性(coherence)”要求。

  从four weeks的特点切入,先说时间长就能走的远:The four weeks would be a time that is long enough and thus allows employees to travel far. 顺着“远”,以国外为例细化“远”:For example, some vacationers may spend the overseas. 再从“远”引到“灵感”:As the destination is far from and probably different from home, which may have confined the workers’ minds for long, the exotic culture may be theirinspiration for work. 接下来,并列一个理由,时间长所以可以好好体会,产生智力上的火花:Meanwhile, during the four weeks, a time that is long enough, vacationers may be able to fully appreciate the different life and generate intellectual sparks. “灵感”和“火花”归于一点之后,引向work better:At this point, employers can expect the more efficient and productive job performance of their staff.

  两个例子可能还不够,各位烤鸭可能还需要看到的段落分解来理解和模仿。

  Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.

  Introduction

  Advertising has been an integral part of our economic and social life now. However, as a powerful technique of promoting sales, it has been censured by some people for its “main aim”: to encourage shoppers to buy unnecessary goods. I tend to think that this view presents a very one-sided picture of advertising.

  The commentary is understandable that advertising creates unconscious desires. People holding this view may ascribe their over-consumption to advertisers’ exaggerated claims of their marketing pitches, which means advertising puts goods in a positive light, creating unrealistic expectations, all for the benefit of selling. Enticed by these messages, consumers would buy goods of little or no value to themselves on impulse, be it a new cell phone or a massage armchair.

  To persuade potential customers through evoking their psychological appeals, indeed, is one objective of advertising. However, I would argue that there is a controversy in what constitutes necessities versus non-essentials. This ambiguous notion is changing, along with the change in generations. To explain, what seems nonessential now – a massage armchair, for example – may fulfill its function years later, whereas what seems required now – a cell phone, for example – may soon lose its value if operating systems suddenly upgrade.

  My firm conviction is that the real objective of advertising is to promote effective communication between producers and consumers. Not only that, advertising helps maintain the demand for existing products and services.
