Introduction
Shown in the two maps are the present floor plan of Southwest Airport and the development plan of it. Overall, the airport after the development will be moderately different.
Body
The most conspicuous difference is the 10 more gates on top of the existing 8 gates, and those additional ports are the extensions of the airport, making the airport larger. Accordingly, the present walkway, which transports the passengers to the gates, will be replaced with a sky train.
The main part of the terminal building will have moderate changes only in its interior. First, both the entrance and the exit will have two doors. Second, departing visitors will see a bag drop area where the check-in zone currently is, and the check-in zone will be moved across the hall and against the east wall. Accordingly, the café will be relocated, and visitors will find it in the southwestern corner and in the immediate vicinity of the entrance. Another addition is the shops in the waiting lounge behind the customs.
In the hall of arrivals will also be a few more facilities. Arriving visitors passing the customs would look to their left-hand side for a café and an ATM on their way out.By the exit, car rental – another addition for visitors’ convenience – will be available in a small extension.
Conclusion
In light of all the changes, Southwest Airport will have greater capacity and become more functional.

It will be better to have wide use of driverless cars for individuals and society.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
01、The automotive industry is witnessing game-changing development, and this revolutionary change lies in the galloping of the driverless technology. As modern as they may look, those driverless vehicles are unexciting and rattling overall. (33 words)
解析
Ø 将题目中的cars,buses and trucks概括为automotive industry。
* automotive 汽车的
* game-changing 变革性的
* revolutionary 革命性的
* gallop 快速发展(不及物动词)
* rattling 使人不安的
02、Safety issues are the immediate concern. There have been reports about the malfunction of the Artificial Intelligence technology installed on the vehicles. There have also been reports about humans and AI struggling for the control over the steering wheel and the pedals. Those reports make quite a few people suspicious of whether the driverless technology is solid and reliable. As a matter of fact, this hazard is never officially negated, thereby remaining as the biggest drawback of this driverless technology. (80 words)
* immediate 当前的
* malfunction 故障(可数名词)
* install 安装,安置(及物动词)
* struggle 争夺(不及物动词,通常和for连用,struggle with sb for sth)
* quite a few 很多
* suspicious 不信任的,持有怀疑态度的(通常和of连用)
* solid 可靠的
* hazard 危险(可数名词)
* negate 否认(及物动词)
03、The deprivation of the fun of driving is another disappointment. The exciting “the sheer fun of driving” slogan may no longer be seen, and completely automatic cars (different from cars with the automatic gear) can hardly be exciting for a considerable number of male drivers, who finally are able to afford a nice car they have always wanted since their youth. What they want is the sense of coolness created by their skillful manipulation of the cars rather than the ease. The hands-off experience is certainly undesirable. (89 words)
* deprivation 剥夺
* disappointment 令人失望的事/人(可数名词)
* automatic 自动的
* considerable 很大的
* sense of coolness 酷
* skillful 熟练的
* manipulation 操作
* ease舒适,安逸(不可数名词)
* hands-off 放手的
* undesirable 不想要的
04、In fairness, the driverless technology is a groundbreakingadvance. At present, its development and application have afforded convenience and created economic benefits. Cars with this technology are easy to park and alert human drivers to potential collisions. Other vehicles using this technology are being used in more and more settings, such as airport shuttle buses and trains, and accordingly there have been reductions in the labor cost. (89 words)
* in fairness 公平地说
* groundbreaking 革新的
* advance 进步
* application 运用(可数名词)
* afford 提供(及物名词)
* alert 使警惕(及物名词,常和to连用,alert sb to do sth,alert sb to sth)
* collision 碰撞事故(可数名词)
05、Overall, the driverless technology will eventually reach a high level of accuracy, precision and sophistication. But now the faults are evident, and the merits are less so. (27 words)
