6分:uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task; attempts to use less common vocabulary but with some inaccuracy; make some errors in spelling and/or word formation, but they do not impede communication
6分,有充足的词汇量,会使用不常见词汇,偶尔有错但不影响交流
5分:uses a limited range of vocabulary, but this is minimally adequate for the task ; may make noticeable errors in spelling and/or word formation that may cause some difficulty for the reader
5分,词汇量有限,有明显拼写错误,还影响阅读
所以词汇上5到6分存在着明显的区别!
除了单词拼错(只有狂背自救)的问题外,问问自己
①你有没有经常词性出错
如hold the believe, relief pressure, have an affect
②你会不会出现中式英语,如
| 中式表达 | 正确表达 | |
| 学到知识 | Learnknowledge | Acquireknowledge |
| 身体素质 | Improvetheirbodies | Makethemphysicallystrong |
| 获得好成绩 | Haveagoodmark | Improvetheirperformance |
如何词汇,获得正确的表达?
1研读考官范文
如,C5T2 Gap year关于高中生是否要休息一年再上大学,考官写到:
By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or traveling to other places have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on.
by contrast 相反,是进行对比论证时必备的连接词
spend some time earning…or traveling, 固定搭配spend …(in) doing sth,老有学生写成spend time to do sth.
earn a living 谋生讨生活
have a broader view of life 有更广阔的视野,类似于broaden one’s horizon
have better personal resources to draw on拥有的人脉
仅仅是一句话,就有这么多值得我们学习的内容,所以还等什么呢?
2积累话题词汇
雅思写作有11大常考话题(如教育,社会,科技,环境,文化,政府,犯罪等),所以大家不妨按照话题去逐步攻克这座大山。
比如,政府类,我们研究了历年这类的考题,发现它考察的经常是
政府的职能
题目1:Some people say that the government should ensure that people lead a healthy life, while others believe that individuals should have their own choices. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.(0719)
题目2:The best way for government to solve traffic congestion problems in cities is to provide free transport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (0121/0109)
对于上述题目,我们发现可以准备一些词组作为通用观点,比如
① 立法introduce laws
为了保证公民的健康,政府可以订立一些法律规矩来约束人们的行为,比如公共场所禁烟,要求所有商家在包装上显示成分表;为了解决拥堵问题,政府可以立法,单双号限行等,使人们少开私家车
② 征税impose taxes on
政府可以对一些高热量的垃圾食品,烟酒征税,使人们减少摄入量,从而更健康;征收拥堵税,可以使人们选择错峰出行,减少拥堵
③ 人们意识raise people’s awareness/launch awareness campaig
个人的健康意识,人们才会自觉的少吃垃圾食品多吃蔬菜水果多运动;
个人的意识,人们也才会自觉舍弃私家车,选择公共交通
财政收入如何分配
题目1:Some people think government should not spend money on supporting artists and money should be spent on more important things. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (0909/20130525)
题目2:Governments funding should only provide scholarships for best students. All other funding should come from student fees and private organizations. Do you agree or disagree? (0624)
这类题目经常问,政府是否应该投资艺术家,还是应该花在其他重要方面;
Investment in education can disseminate knowledge and improve young people’s job prospects.

Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people do not really need.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
范文及解析
Introduction
Advertising has been an integral part of our economic and social life now. However, as a powerful technique of promoting sales, it has been censured by some people for its “main aim”: to encourage shoppers to buy unnecessary goods. I tend to think that this view presents a very one-sided picture of advertising.
【解析】
integral part 不可或缺的部分
censure 谴责v.
one-sided 片面的adj.
Body Paragraph 1
The commentary is understandable that advertising creates unconscious desires. People holding this view may ascribe their over-consumption to advertisers’ exaggerated claims of their marketing pitches, which means advertising puts goods in a positive light, creating unrealistic expectations, all for the benefit of selling. Enticed by these messages, consumers would buy goods of little or no value to themselves on impulse, be it a new cell phone or a massage armchair.
【解析】
ascribe … to … 归咎于
marketing pitch 市场营销
entice 怂恿 v.
on impulse 一时冲动
Body Paragraph 2
To persuade potential customers through evoking their psychological appeals, indeed, is one objective of advertising. However, I would argue that there is a controversy in what constitutes necessities versus non-essentials. This ambiguous notion is changing, along with the change in generations. To explain, what seems nonessential now – a massage armchair, for example – may fulfill its function years later, whereas what seems required now – a cell phone, for example – may soon lose its value if operating systems suddenly upgrade.
【解析】
evoke 唤醒 v.
psychological appeals
controversy 争议 n.
Body Paragraph 3
My firm conviction is that the real objective of advertising is to promote effective communication between producers and consumers. When a new product is to be introduced in the market, producers create memorable advertising campaigns that boost brans recognition, from which potential customers can be informed more about product advantages and know what suits their requirements and budget. Not only that, advertising helps maintain the demand for existing products and services.
【解析】
introduce 引入v.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would say that the main aim of advertising is to prepare a ground for the sales of products, but we cannot affirm that the promoted goods are unnecessary.
【解析】
prepare a ground for 为…打基础
affirm 断言v.
